What's New

First: I've added a new category under Portfolio, called "A Painting a Day". There are artists who have been doing this for years, completing a painting every day! I decided this would be a great "get out of the rut" project to undertake.
This is great training, to work quickly and try to just capture the "essence" of something. I will add a new painting most every week day. Weekends are for other pursuits, like training for my other pasttime - long distance running.
These daily paintings will have a much broader range of subject matter, and I'm having a lot of fun with them. They are usually not highly polished works, but some of them do turn out to be nice little paintings. Because of storage limitations on my website, I'll only have a month or two of these up at any given time.
Second: I had intended to paint our local mountain over the course of the next year. However, general consensus around here is "Please, we don't need any more Monadnock paintings!". So, I'm considering some other options for a long-term project. Who knows what it'll turn out to be?
Third: Ever wonder how a painting 'happens"? I'll be posting photos of a painting in progress. You'll be able to follow along as I start with the basic shapes, and begin building form and light. Of course what you won't see is me pulling out my hair when something doesn't go right!
